About us
Who are Made?
Made Architects are a young innovative practice, led by 2 founding architectural directors, formed of RIBA and CIAT accredited architects and technicians, supported by a team providing over 200 years experience, from studios in Kent, London, Gatwick and Surrey.
The wider Made Group also benefits from over a 115 years of architectural experience from the oldest member, Burns Guthrie, who are fourth generation architects who have delivered ground-breaking and large schemes in education, residential and healthcare sectors, alongside their specialisms in BIM and Sustainability.
We think of architecture as establishing space and purpose within the wider environment. We think that our buildings and interventions should only establish a light touch on the earth. As such our values are related to enhancing the environment, whether through re-purposing existing built form or considered placing of new buildings.
We approach all of our projects the same way, through a client centric vision supported by values of low or zero carbon awareness, innovative designs and good quality delivery. This approach works equally well for both our sectors - home and community.
Home we believe is where you are at your most comfortable, and this should be reflected in the surroundings. We have expertise in low carbon, highly sustainable design; listed buildings and conservation areas; as well as creating new parts of wider communities.
Community we believe encompasses home and so much more. We have extensive experience in design of education, sports and leisure buildings, from the very first idea (brief and master plans), through funding and public sector input and delivery on site. We are pleased to be able to offer unique and innovative solutions with partner organisations all through one single point of contact.

Nigel Marcoolyn

RIBA Client Design AdvisorNigel has 23 years experience at architectural design and delivery for commercial, community, bluelight and education projects, ranging from client design advisory through to the delivery of many interesting projects. As made Architects’ Design Lead, his creative and innovative thinking enable him to work with our exciting team and design consultants to establish the best solution for our clients and their site and accommodation needs.

Aaron Dellaway
Founding Director | RIBA Architect
Aaron has 14 years’ experience within the architectural industry, including delivering a range of complex schemes in the commercial, hospitality, bluelight, education and residential sectors for both fit-out and new build projects with a focus on technical design, MMC and off-site solutions. As Technical Lead at Made Architects he enjoys working alongside consultant engineers and our internal technologists to resolve challenging details, particularly where other architects have been unsuccessful. -

Christian Gonsalves
Associate Director | RIBA Architect
Christian has extensive experience across multiple sectors, having designed and delivered retrofit and new-build projects for AJ100 practices. Through a series of briefing workshops, to engage with the needs of all stakeholders, he is adept at working with educational establishments of all UK stages. Christian fosters a collaborative, team environment for each project, which includes stakeholders, the consultant team and the main contractor, working together and ensure positive outcomes. -

William Stewart
Associate Director | RIBA Architect | PassivHaus Designer | Retrofit Coordinator
William has 18 years’ experience designing and delivery buildings in the bluelight, leisure, education and residential sectors. As an Associate Director at Made Architects he is responsible for the running of projects and teams from RIBA Stage 3 through to completion and handover on a variety of technically challenging projects. William has led projects with contract values in excess of £20 million and is a proud PassivHaus Certified Designer with a passion for retrofit across all sectors.
