Residential Development
made Architects has created a proposal for the construction of 24 houses and 12 apartments. The proposal enables a mix of tenures, unit sizes and material / building styles, helping to create the new town centre extension. made aim to connect the wider future owners and occupants with the wider community, connecting through to local shops, retails and Public Houses, as well as other services and facilities. The development provides housing that meets the needs of present and future generations in locations that are consistent with Thanet policy.
Little Barton Farmhouse, Kent
Little Barton is a Grade II listed farmhouse and outbuildings that needed modernisation. Our client wished to undertake an extensive programme of refurbishment, together with conversion of redundant outbuildings into living accommodation, and the demolition and replacement of an existing garage.
Residential Development, West London
In 2021, a private developer approached us to carry out the feasibility design for a sliver of disused, wooded and overgrown land adjacent to a railway. Our work necessitated extensive discussions with several bodies, especially the Local Authority. The proposals have been taken forward to a full planning application.
Brecknock, Tunbridge Wells
Located in Camden Park, a historic residential Conservation Area in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Brecknock is a significant three-storey house. It was designed to provide a five-bedroom family home which fits comfortably within its Arcadian setting. Previously unsuccessful applications for a new house on the site meant that our design had to address concerns raised by planners and Conservation Officers.
Residential Apartments
made Architects have proposed a significant landmark building, three to five stories high, providing just under 100 dwellings. With close proximity to the coast on three sides of the site, made Architects have proposed a modern and iconic set of apartments that offer large outside terraces and sea views. This proposal will be a feature building within the local context.
Stroods
made Architects has been appointed for technical design and construction support for the refurbishment and extension of a substantial residential project in Sussex. The extension comprises a timber space frame, providing a fantastic kitchen diner overlooking a carefully designed landscaped garden with swimming pool.
Crutches Farm
Crutches Farm is a historic farmstead located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This collection of dilapidated and disused agricultural buildings sits within the curtilage of a Grade II listed farmhouse but does little to enhance the setting of the listed building. Burns Guthrie were part of a team appointed to examine the refurbishment and possible conversion of the buildings, which include an oast, a fattening lodge, a stable and a timber-frame barn, to residential or leisure use.
Chalk Lane
made Architects are working with Vulcan Ellis providing technical advisory services during the construction phase of this extension and conversion of the historic grade 2 listed pub and hotel to 21 town houses and apartments. The scheme involves careful detailing with the historic fabric to create contemporary dwellings within this town centre site in the London Borough of Epsom. Alongside the building there will be landscaped gardens, parking and paths all carefully integrated within the established trees on site
James Allen Girls (JAGs) Pre-Prep School
made Architects have been appointed to transform a locally listed historical Pre-Prep building into comfortable and modern maisonettes. made will sensitively preserve the existing structure and character of the building whilst designing unique and individual dwellings giving a new life to its original forms.
Chaldon - Homes in the greenbelt
made architects have modelled several proposals for 1 to 2 new build dwellings in Chaldon, Surrey. Located in the north downs and an area of outstanding natural beauty, the proposed dwelling are sympathetic to their surroundings and designed to be low impact sustainable builds. The dwellings will replace old outbuildings and will not increase the total volume of built spaces on the site.
Rosalind Franklin Halls - Recladding and Refurbishment
made Architects are appointed to work on a large scale student accommodation project, including recladding, refurbishment and repurposing. Working with a large team through all RIBA stages to prepare for delivery on site later in the year.
Speranza Street
This Modern Method of Construction (MMC), carbon zero, residential project will deliver 8 new apartments in the Royal Borough of Greenwich; adjacent to existing apartment buildings and enjoying an un-paralleled view of the London sky-line.
We have been responsible for developing the scheme from RIBA Stage 3 (Planning) through to on-site delivery with MCD Construction.
Residential Masterplanning
RIBA Stages 1-3, providing up to 90 residential apartments on a extensive brownfield site in Kent
Carterdale Cottages
made architects in partnership with Squires Planning have proposed 3 new terrace dwellings in Dorking, Surrey.
Salome Barn
Prior Approval and planning application submitted for the conversion of this barn in Huntingdon into a high specification 4 bedroom dwelling. Great team effort to get this over the line.
Condover Crescent
made Architects, in collaboration with LXA Projects, worked closely with Gretton School through RIBA Stages 1-6 to design and deliver new specialist SEN classrooms, administration and meeting spaces within the existing school and a new-build Reception Main Entrance with additional visitor parking.
Blithdale Road and Charles Grinling Walk
This Modern Method of Construction (MMC), carbon zero, community project will deliver 2 new homes in the heart of Arsenal; adjacent to the existing urban centre, in-filling an un-used and un-loved brownfield site.
Student Accommodation
RIBA Stages 1-6 repurposing and recladding of Unite Student accommodation in Leicester. Providing full architectural services, alongside fire engineers, structural engineers, building control and façade engineers; working directly for a tier one contractor. Scheme involves full planning and building control submission, before being delivered over 12 months.
Poplar Farm Super Lodges
made Architects have joined forces with ISOSpaces and D3 Contracts to deliver 62 modular, off-site manufactured contemporary holiday homes in Lincolnshire.
These will be taken through a purpose designed new off-site assembly line in Crawley.
Dentist & Apartments, Ruislip
made Architects will be working alongside Chartsfield Construction Management Ltd to design and deliver six new contemporary apartments and a dentist practice in Ruislip, West London, for Brienz Group.
The focal corner site will soon host a pink concrete and stack bonded brick clad building, with a saw-tooth parapet wall profile and living green roof.
